Personality Into Focus
Oakwood needed more than a new look. People were confused by what the organization offered and how to get started. I led a rebrand that clarified the visual identity, service messaging, website structure, and brand personality so the organization was easier to understand, navigate, and connect with.

The Challenge
The previous brand and website didn’t fully reflect the vibrancy, purpose, or personality of Oakwood. Messaging was unclear, the site was outdated, and visitors struggled to understand the services and impact.
The Approach
Oakwood had the heart and energy of a joyful organization, but the brand and messaging weren’t making that clear. My role was to help that personality come through in a way that felt focused, believable, and easy to understand.
The message was simple: there is still time for joy, love, and meaningful moments, even when life looks different than it used to.
The Outcome
A clearer message, a stronger online presence, and a brand that connects more deeply with families, volunteers, donors, and the community.

The original acorn was meant to represent a fingerprint, honoring every person who has left their mark on Oakwood. I refined the logo to make that idea clearer while giving the mark more weight, better readability, and stronger use across print, web, signage, and branded materials.

The website hero features slow-motion video from real Oakwood members, alongside rotating messages to convey one idea: there’s still time. Still time for love. Mischief. Creativity. Connection. Joy.
It helped reframe Oakwood as a place where each day matters and reminded visitors that age and dementia do not erase the possibility of beautiful, human moments. Life is still happening here.

Designing a Gala with Meaning
Oakwood’s annual gala needed to be beautiful, meaningful, and built to inspire giving. I led the creative direction from concept to event night, shaping the theme, visual identity, and guest experience.
The Challenge
The gala needed to feel elevated, emotional, and immersive without feeling overly formal, generic, or disconnected from Oakwood’s uplifting mission of creating joyful moments.
The Approach
Created an enchanted garden theme using botanical illustration, jewel tones, ornate typography, gold accents, lighting effects, and hidden details guests could discover throughout the night.
The Outcome
The final event did what a strong gala should do: it looked beautiful, felt meaningful, and moved people to give. It exceeded fundraising goals and left guests with a stronger connection to Oakwood.
